JOSEPHINE MODELING CAMCORDER CLOTH

Josephine Mbunwe is an engineering student at the University of Nigeria and a native of Cameroon. The camcorder cloth kaftan she is modeling was purchased at the Nsukka market. The cloth is manufactured in Nigeria.

The video camcorder has become a fixture of Nigerian culture. Important events are recorded for posterity, and elders produce their own memorial tapes that now stand alongside shrines, monuments and ritual performance as media to preserve the memory of ancestors.
