Each set of readings is accompanied by a writing assignment, that is part of the project. These assignments aim to develop your ability to read critically and thoughtfully. The articles are drawn from sources you may encounter -- newspapers, on the web, in magazines -- as well as from scholarly sources. You are expected to be able to discern the different kinds of information you receive from each type of source. GUIDE FOR WRITING ESSAYS
